Comes the DawnA True StoryWilson G. Bear
I awoke early one Monday morning in July with the worst pain I had ever felt, in my lower abdomen. The Emergency Room physician had me admitted immediately and prepped for surgery. I had a perforated appendix and it had to come out before peritonitis set in.
Normally, an appendectomy is a five to seven day hospital stay. By the third day, I was feeling pretty good. I had cut back on my morphine and I ate a normal dinner and dozed off to sleep a little after the 10:00 PM vitals. Sometime later, something roused me; I sensed someone in the room. Lying on my back, I got the impression of a young w

Pictober 2018 and Pictober 2019
October ended and its challenge 2018 #Pictober2018 invented by Laetitia ~Omoidenoki (https://www.deviantart.com/omoidenoki) stops at the same time.
On the theme of Inktober #inktober2018, which is to make a B&W drawing that illustrates a list of words, Laetitia imagined that this same list allows to offer B&W pictures on the daily theme.
And it was successful : 11 deviants :iconsehlley::icon3y3toy::iconsiucar::iconratinrage::iconjane-eyre13::iconabnormalion::iconomoidenoki::iconmarkotxe::iconidism::iconlotus105::iconchetje:, me among them, have dedicated to the task, and their 331 productions can be seen here #Pictober2018, or else day by day in this diary done by :i
The Trump administration has suggested that the U.S. government should only accept a binary definition of sex and that a person's sex should be fixed in government records entirely on the person's genitalia at birth. This would deny all trans people from identifying to the sex of their choice; a cruelty that would result in the potential deaths of many from suicide while needlessly denying rights of identity to all.
How brave and strong must this person be?
LISTEN TO THE SONG
If you twist and turn away
If you tear yourself in two again
If I could, yes I would
If I could, I would
Let it go
Surrender
Dislocate
If I could throw this
Lifeless lifeline to the wind
Leave this heart of clay
See you walk, walk away
Into the night
And through the rain
Into the half-light
And through the flame
If I could through myself
Set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away
See you break, break away
Into the light
And to the day
To let it go
And so to fade away
To let it go
And so fade away
I'm wide awake
Wide awake
I'm not sleeping, no, no
If you should ask then maybe they'd

In my usual fashion, I still have hundreds of photos to go through from vacation and I have since taken hundreds more. I did a "Big Day" recently with my best friend for birding and saw over 70 species of birds. So guess who took a bunch of photos then too and still hasn't even taken them off their camera xD But do know, I am still editing photos and there is plenty more to come!
In the meantime, enjoy this weird picture of Ulysses. I was editing the white balance and created this thing and kept rolling with it. I will now continue editing many birb pictures 8D
As if I didn't have enough pictures in my backlog to edit, I'm gonna be taking more tomorrow!
In case some people didn't know, I volunteer at the Orange Country Bird of Prey Center. (In Southern California, I always knew there was an OC in Florida but through a message online on one of the OCBPC accounts I recently learned there was an OC in Texas too. I wish they all could have an awesome raptor center like we do! Our volunteers are literally the best <3 ) We're a rehabilitation center for injured raptors, we also do education with non-releasable raptors, and we have public releases!
I've posted some photos already from some of our pa
